生命是一种必须购买的价值，而思考是惟一买得起它的货币。

获得生命并不等同于幸免于死亡。快乐并非“痛苦的缺席”，才智并非“愚蠢的不在”，光明并不是“黑暗的缺席”，实体并非“不存在的不存在”。建设并不是通过克制自己不去破坏就能成就的；在这样的克制状态中坐等多少个世纪，也不会为你们的不再去破坏抬起一根横梁。
